Serendipity III

Serendipity-3-Restaurant-General-Store

Hello hello! Wow – the past few weeks have been a whirlwind. After a great, laid-back vacation in Wyoming, I headed to a destination that’s the polar opposite of Wyoming – New York City (!!!) – for a quick work trip. While it was a little crazy going from wide open spaces to a city jam-packed with buildings and people, both places were amazing to visit.

I was so excited to visit this restaurant, Serendipity III, while I was in the Big Apple. You might recognize it from the movie Serendipity. In the movie, Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack grab dessert – Serendipity’s famous ‘Frrrozen Hot Chocolate’ to be exact – after randomly bumping into each other at Bloomingdale’s. The restaurant is also frequented by celebs like  Katie Holmes and Suri, according to my ruthless People.com stalking.

The restaurant is super tiny and the front portion is a general store, filled to the brim with books, jewelry, and glittery novelty items (Wonder Woman cup anyone?) While it’s crowded, it’s an entertaining place to shop or browse around while you wait for a table.

Once I was seated, I perused the huge menu…

I finally decided on the Chicken Julia (which was delicious) and Serendipity’s famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate…

This, my friends, is the drink in all its glory… Served in a bowl because it’s overflowing with whipped cream and chocolaty goodness.

Let’s just say I can’t wait to go back next time I’m in NYC :) Here are the details in case you make it there before I do!
